Enclosure

Custom enclosure design and prototyping, built around your board

Your board needs a home. We design and prototype the enclosure around it, in the same conversation as the board.

What's included
  • Custom enclosure design
  • 3D-printed & CNC prototypes
  • Fit-checked against your board

Why this gets scoped separately

Enclosure usually gets scoped last, after the board design is already frozen — which is exactly backwards. Mounting holes land in the wrong place, a connector ends up flush against a wall it shouldn't be near, and what should've been a one-week fit check turns into a redesign. Bringing enclosure into the same conversation as the board avoids that.

What this capability actually covers

1

Designed around your actual board

Mounting-hole position, connector cutouts and component clearance are worked from your real board outline and component placement.

2

3D-printed and CNC prototypes

Fast-turn prototype enclosures in 3D-printed or CNC-machined form, so you can test a real fit before committing to production tooling.

3

Fit-checked before you commit

The enclosure prototype gets checked against your actual fabricated board — connectors, mounting points, ventilation — before it's signed off.

4

Production tooling support

Once the prototype fit is confirmed, the same design carries forward into production tooling — no separate redesign step between prototype and volume.

// questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers on how this part of the build actually runs. Anything else, ask us directly.

01

Can you design the enclosure if I only have the board design, not a case concept?

Yes — this is the normal starting point. Send your board outline and component placement and we design the enclosure around it, rather than you sourcing a generic case and hoping it fits.

02

Do you build a physical prototype, or just a 3D model?

Both — a 3D-printed or CNC-machined physical prototype, fit-checked against your actual fabricated board before anything moves toward production tooling.

03

What happens if the fit is wrong on the first prototype?

That's what the fit-check step is for — adjustments happen on the prototype, before production tooling, not after.

04

Does enclosure design work alongside the PCB fabrication order, or separately?

Alongside — mention it when you request a quote and it gets scoped together with the board.
